About me

Growing up in a country like Peru, I was no stranger to controversy, politics and diversity. After graduating high school, I spent one year in Israel and had the opportunity to take part in a leadership program that provided me with direct insights into Israeli society.

My experience working in Peru made me realize the huge negative impact that a poor political system can have in a country rich in natural resources and growth potential. This pushed me to my next journey: the pursuit of a career in Political Sciences and Government. I realized that if I wanted to develop a critical perspective of the world, I needed to acquire the knowledge to do so. I enrolled myself into a research program aimed at designing a development-oriented system for Sacsamarca, an Andean community hit by terrorism during the 1980s. Afterwards I presented the results in the fifth conference of the Latin American and Caribbean Association for Human Development and the Capabilities Approach (ALCADECA) in a research paper called “Agency, conflict and human development: the case of Sacsamarca after Shinning Path”.

One of my most educational experiences during college was the opportunity to work at the most prestigious newspaper in Peru, “El Comercio”. I was part of a team of young professionals who were given the challenge of creating a new editorial line. Every day we held meetings and exchanged new ideas. I conducted in-depth interviews with renowned politicians, writers, and top professionals in their fields. I also had the opportunity to edit, do research for, and write political pieces. This experience also enhanced my own personal development and helped me realize how fascinating media discourses, framings, and communications are. I translated this curiosity into my undergrad thesis: The construction of the discourses in the Peruvian press about the Arab-Israeli Conflict in 2008-2009.

Now, after finishing my Master’s degree in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, I understood I needed new challenges. I’ve been working as a researcher in the past year in the Institute of National Security Studies (INSS) in Civil Front from the Homeland Security Division. Also, working in a research project for the Truman Institute in Political Communications. Besides that, I’ve been teaching a course of Zionism and the History of the State of Israel in the Jewish Agency for three consecutive semesters.
